Area Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.
Law enforcement state they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.
The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Officers then found multiple other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement report early analysis show the substance was probably blood from a person.
"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; authorities are currently not aware of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they added.
Municipal representatives stated they were trying "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the residents for tips.
A high-ranking official stated the incident rendered him speechless and had to be resolved promptly.
"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack half a decade ago," he posted on online, referring to the killing of nine people by a gunman aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
