Stateside actor Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic television series such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in LA this Monday having undergone cancer treatment since 2022, as reported by reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his family stated in a announcement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Prolific Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a social organizer who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of well-known programs, including:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired countless students during his career and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he posted on social media.
Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
