HBO's It Spinoff Premieres Episode Two Early on HBO's Digital Service
Audiences are thrilled for the Stephen King adaptation the Derry series, that's been earning acclaim and weaving in elements from other Stephen King works. Just one day after launch, the network declared that the next chapter will arrive early, scheduled ideally for October 31st.

Starting on October 31 at midnight PT, the second episode of It: Welcome to Derry will launch on HBO's online platform, before its linear broadcast. Future chapters of the eight-episode season will premiere on the weekend on the network and streaming service, leading up to the final episode on December 14th.
Show Background
Set in the Derry mythology, the new series draws from the classic book while building upon the setting established by director Andy Muschietti in the two It films. The original It highlighted adolescents battling unimaginable horrors, making it appropriate that the series follows in those footsteps. Yet, the premiere episode of HBO’s Welcome to Derry proves it intended to increase the tension, delivering even more intense scares than the movies and creating a brutal tone for what's to come.

Set in 1962, this show introduces a new generation of adults and children inhabiting a seemingly idyllic town hiding a evil heart. This place operates on a vicious, repeating pattern—one marked by aggression, prejudice, and paranormal events, as a terrifying being returns each 27-year cycle. Although It: Welcome to Derry might seem like it skews too close to the movies on the surface, what distinguishes the streaming show is its parallel storytelling—unfolding through the perspectives of kids and grown-ups simultaneously. Younger characters stay highly exposed to It's terror, but the adults also face facing their own nightmares stemming from Derry’s deep-seated bigotry and lurking supernatural forces.
