The New Animated Series' Opening Sequence Selected the Incorrect Popular RPG Show Song

The Mighty Nein, the newest animated series from the beloved role-playing group, revealed a new opening credits. It showcases our favorite group of outcasts, misfits, and rogues fighting hard and making their mark, while teasing at several agonizing personal histories for characters such as the voice actor's wizard Caleb, and another actor's orc warlock, the character Fjord.

Overall, the opening looks amazing. However, I felt that something was lost in the music selection.

The intro uses "Welcome to the Continent", an exceptional composition created by producer and singer the talented musician. This piece originating from the soundtrack album of the same name, the second release released by Critical Role Productions LLC's music division Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a wonderful nostalgic option, and I suspect that devotees of the second campaign will love its presence.

But for me, The series' intro fails to capture the excitement and excitement that accompanied the second campaign's live-play sessions. "Your Turn to Roll", written by singer-songwriter Jason Charles Miller, became an immediate hit in my view when it was first revealed in 2015, and it only got better when co-founder the performer added lyrics to the melody for the series' animated intro in 2018.

Featuring vocals from Ashley Johnson, another performer, Travis Willingham, as well as Riegel himself, the track was catchy and fun. At the time, I hadn't seen the second campaign yet, but this was such an earworm that I kept it on my phone. This track that knows how to get you pumped before you dive into an installment of adventurous fun.

The Mighty Nein's opening with "Welcome to Wildemount" doesn't strike the right notes in my opinion. It's a grand composition, but from what I know of this party, I can't help but feel that its mood is somewhat mismatched.

Of course, the creators has stated that the animated show will have a few surprises and differences from the actual-play campaign. A tonal change for its intro seems to be among these.

This animated adventure will be available to watch on the streaming service from November 19. For those eager before that, or wish to prepare to get to know the personas of the second series, the actual play are accessible on Spotify and the video site.
