Nearly twenty-five thousand households in Queensland's southeast were left experiencing outages on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms impacted the state, producing strong winds hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Substantial Ice Stones and Widespread Destruction
Homeowners witnessed large ice chunks reaching sizes of seven centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities announced that various areas across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were focused on reestablishing electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews working to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
Meanwhile, approximately one thousand energy customers in the southern state also encountered energy failures after the metropolitan area experienced its heaviest rainfall in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services received over five hundred calls for help across the state, mainly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

At one point on the previous day, over 28k electricity consumers in Victoria were without power.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along much of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent thunderstorm potential expected across multiple regions of both areas.
Health Warning
Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This caution comes after previous incidents where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the region.
